Connecticut’s official state hero is Nathan Hale, a school master who was caught by the British and hanged as a spy in 1776. Nathan Hale is famous for his final words from the gallows: “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country.”

So Connecticut has both the hero Nathan Hale and the infamous Benedict Arnold as natives.

Few states can boast such notable people from the Revolutionary War.

Connecticut is the third smallest state (size wise) in the county.

Connecticut is the 29th largest state (population wise) in the country.

The capital of Connecticut is Hartford, but the largest city is Bridgeport.

People in Connecticut are called Nutmeggers or Connecticuters.
