Low Expectations Of The (internet technology news) Season

By Kyla Mie

It is obvious who the pleasant surprises of the 2009 Sprint Cup season are after thirteen races. Making NASCAR news is a small group of top-ranking drivers. Drivers, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman, are two that have exceeded preseason expectations. David Reutimann, a driver for Michael Waltrip Racing, is having a exceptional season, with a recent victory at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Reutimann is very close to reaching top twelve status.

Although a part-time driver in the Sprint Cup, Brad Keselowski has become a first-time win in 2009. He won at Talladega driving for Phoenix Racing, and independent team owned by James Finch.

There were other pleasant surprises, such as the improvement of Juan Pablo Montoya and Sam Hornish Jr over their 2008 season performances.

Now, despite these pleasant surprises, there have been other drivers and teams that have performed worse than expected.

Dale Earnhardt Jr tops the roster of disappointments in 2009. When Earnhardt Jr first arrived at Hendrick Motorsports in 2008, he was the strongest of the four-car outfit. As the season got moving full speed, other teams began to close the gap until Earnhardt was lagging behind his competitors. He has yet to regain the magic he and Tony Eury Jr found in the early months of the 2008 campaign. In fact, Rick Hendrick replaced Tony Eury Jr with Lance McGrew. McGrew is now the interim crew chief for Earnhardt Jr.

Despite his efforts, Earnhardt Jr has struggled to carry his burden; in the midst of his weak performance, this burden seems like too much to handle. NASCAR’s top driver is in a race to improve his performance to avoid continued negative press.

Kevin Harvick, who was a qualifying driver in the Chase for the Championship between 2006 and 2008, also won six races during that time. Nevertheless, he finds himself in the middle of his least productive season since his second-year slump in 2002. It seems as if a fourth consecutive Chase for the Championship appearance is a long-shot for Harvick, who has not won a race since the 2007 Daytona 500.

Harvick is not the only racer from his racing team that is drowning poor track performance. His Richard Childress Racing teammates have faded since the previous year, most notably Clint Bowyer. After an outstanding start to the 2009 season, Bowyer has finished below the top ten in each of the previous seven races leading up to the Pocono 500. Even with Jeff Burton’s consistent record, the overall performance of the team is definitely down . Driver Casey Mears has managed to get two top ten finishes in the last four races despite his slow start at open of the season.

Roush Fenway Racing driver David Ragan ranks high as another disappointing performer, rivaling even Earnhardt Jr and Harvick. It seems the NASCAR news is getting grimmer. Ragan was possibly the most improved driver in 2008, but he has fallen back into mediocrity. With a thirteenth place finish at 2008 championships, NASCAR news and racing analysts were forecasting that Ragan would join the ranks of drivers competing in the Sprint Cup championships. Unfortunately, for Ragan, he only scored one top ten finish in the first thirteen races. It brings the status of the team into question.

Ragan’s teammate Carl Edwards achieved victory in the Sprint Cup series, with nine races in 2008. Now, with thirteen races over, Edwards has not won another race. Even though he is among the top twelve in the championship listings, we all expected more out of Edwards and the No. 99 group.

I, like many others, am drawn to the spectacle of NASCAR racing and keep up on NASCAR news items when I can. Writing about NASCAR offers some adde dimensions.

Festivals Designers Information

By Stylekandy

Born in 2009 ‘Kimaya’ the brainchild of the husband-wife duo Pradeep and Neha Hirani is now the undisputed leader in retail fashion business. Summer has bid adieu and with the arrival of festivals in India, Fall is going to sneak very soon. Pre-Fall fits seamlessly in between and Kimaya is all set with its new Pre-Fall collection, including festive lines as well. A unique blend of designer assortments by Malini Ramani, Charu Parashar, Rina Dhaka, Manav Gangwani, Hemant and Nandita and Ashish and Viralwas showcased on 1st of Aug at Kimaya in South Mumbai. Every single line by each designer was visually appealing like a beautiful bouquet of colourful ensembles.

Pradeep commented, “India has ‘festive’ as a very important season of its own and its about to start from ‘Rakshabandhan’ now. So here we are with the pre-fall festive collections.” Charu Parashar’s women’s line brought fresh colours in chiffon, georgettes and crepes. Swarovski on the necklines of shift dresses, suits and cocktail outfits just made it alive and luxurious. This festive line truly justifies value for money as she says- “this time my designs are more focused towards the pre-wedding ceremonies suitable for various occasions. Also, I have designed clothes in a way that they can be worn more than one time at different occasions.” Rina Dhaka was in a hurry. “My designs are a reflection of today’s sensuous women. For me fits are really important, my every worker concentrates on the fit first. The whole idea is to make voluminous silhouettes look beautiful. I love colours and that’s what I have played with in this line.” The simple and sober designs embellished with sequined embroidery were presented by none other than the designer duo Hemant and Nandita. Epitomizing a traditional style, the whole range is a beautiful blend of colours and embroideries. Fabrics dipped in maroons, metallic greys, brinjal purples and earthy colours with Zardozi, brocade, dabka and nakshi were magnanimous.

Manav Gang wani unveiled his assortment of sarees and Anarkalis, whereas Malini Ramani came up with a full range of dresses with an ethnic touch from the palette of mustard, ochre, parrot green and black and white with tribal embroideries and digital prints including cowl and boat necklines. Sequin work added the bling and glam to her collection staying true to her signature style. The most recent variation of anarkali called ‘masakali’ was the range from Ashish and Viral’ skitty. From the palette of solid colours like teal blue, dark brown and green, the whole line represented the contemporary Indian feel. Brocade work and minimal embroidery in lurex based silk and tulle made the designs simpler and classy. Amongst those who showcased at Kimaya, very few made it possible to be present at the occasion. Rina Dhaka, Charu Parashar and Ashish and Viral were the only designers present. We also spotted Rashmi Uday Singh, Anil Chopra, Amrit Maghera, Vikram Raizada and Anupam Parashar interacting with other guests. It was an exquisite soiree over wine and cheese, including divine foot massages by ‘Aroma Thai’
